Miley’s Super Sweet Disney Sixteen!

October 6, 2008

Miley Cyrus is Sixteen! Well, She WILL be, in seven weeks. But that didn’t stop the Hannah Montana superstar from celebrating in style. “They say it’s the happiest place on Earth,” she said of her birthday venue - none other than Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

The theme park was shut down for Miss Cyrus herself and over 5000 party guests on Sunday night. - who were charged $250 a head for entrance to the event.

Other teen sensations Demi Lovato and David Archuleta were present for the soiree, as well as Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford, Vanessa Williams, Steve Carrell and Jennifer Love Hewitt, according to the Associated Press.

1. TV star? Check.
2. Pop star? Check.
3. Connected parents? Check.
4. Famous former flings? Check.
5. Awards show appearances? Check.
6. Hot new rumored beau? Check.
7. Screaming Fans? Check.

And she’s still (not even) sixteen. So the fact that her parents shut down Disneyland for her birthday is officially the eighth thing we hate about Miley.

Britney Gets The Hat Trick

September 7, 2008

After an abysmal showing at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards - stumbling through a lackluster (and lyp-synched) performance of “Gimme More” - Britney Spears was vindicated as she swept the VMAs this year, taking home three Moon Men.

Britney had never won a Moon Man before, but this year she took home the coveted statue for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year for her song “Piece of Me.” Take that, naysayers!

It was rumored that she would perform on the show, but Britney did herself (and us) a favor and showed up in a sparkly silver dress to accept her three awards, but perform she did not. Congrats, Britney! All the best. I, for one, CANNOT WAIT for that album she’s been working on.

So there’s this article about Mariah Carey’s supposed diva demands at a recent TV taping. It brings up a few points: one, that she has a director of photography with her at all times. This is not so crazy. In fact, I’ve personally benefitted from this wonderful man’s expertise, when taking this pic with Mariah some time ago, he advised me on the angle at which I should hold my head so as not to have a ginormous double chin. Witness the results:

So yeah: no one would call me vain, but if it was my job to be photographed, you best believe I’d try to hire that guy away from That Chick.

The other thing noted in the article was that she insists on being shot from the waist up. Now, this may be true, but check her out when she was in our office the other day. Does this look like a woman who doesn’t want to show off how incredibly tiny she’s become?

Seriously, she looks amazing. But as much as I love her constant use of the word “morsel,” I want to feed her a real meal.
